As Director of the Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Task Force at CHOP, Dr. Murray has extensive experience leading and evaluating hospital-wide initiatives aimed at improving how we address family experiences with IPV in the pediatric clinical setting. She has been working collaboratively with our community partners, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH), for the past five years and through this partnership she and her colleagues have expanded the STOP IPV program at CHOP and refined the program based on research informatics and quality improvement efforts.

Dr. Murray also serves as Associate Director of Advocacy and Health Policy, in which she has worked to formalize and expand community and advocacy efforts of the Division of Emergency Medicine. The overall goal of this program is to provide the infrastructure for service, training, and leadership opportunities to promote advocacy activities and collaboration. Dr. Murray and her colleagues have developed a tracking tool to catalogue work conducted by ED staff, conducted an advocacy educational needs assessment, designed, implemented and supported a Division-wide advocacy activity, and streamlined social media communications.

Furthermore, as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Public Health Initiatives and faculty in the Masters of Public Health program at the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Murray contributes to public health research dissemination and training public health students in their professional and research development. She has received funding to support her own public health research, with a focus on IPV and quality improvement.
