Becca Smitton is the Outreach & Assessment Specialist for the Growing Resilience in Teens (GRIT) Needs Assessment program at CHOP's Center for Violence Prevention. As the first point of contact for the program, Becca meets with interested patients and families who have experienced a recent traumatic event for a comprehensive needs assessment and provides direct referrals to appropriate care. Becca previously held the position as GRIT Social Worker and has been with CHOP and the GRIT program since 2021. Prior to joining CHOP, Becca worked as a Family Based Therapist in Delaware County.
Becca is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her MSW from UC Berkeley. While pursuing her graduate degree, Becca completed internships at two distinct school settings, focused on supporting youth who have experienced trauma. Becca also received her MPH from UC Berkeley, during which she completed quantitative research into the impact of the soda tax on youth sugar sweetened beverage consumption in the Bay Area.
