Dakota Oliveira is an Intimate Partner Violence Specialist at Lutheran Settlement House and CHOP's Center for Violence Prevention. In her role, Dakota works with referred individuals to navigate difficult and abusive relationships. She provides support to survivors by guaranteeing a safe, confidential space to share their stories free of judgement. Additionally, Dakota works with hospital staff to ensure CHOP is a safe and welcoming space for survivors. This work prioritizes empowering survivors and aiding in crisis management.
Dakota holds a master's degree in Anthropology from University College Cork with a focused expertise in sexual violence on Native American reservations. Passionate about advocating for marginalized communities, Dakota conducts ethnographic research to better understand the cultural, social, and systemic factors contributing to violence and its impact. Her work aims to influence policy, raise awareness, and contribute to the development of effective support systems for survivors. Dakota is committed to fostering change through evidence-based practices and community-driven solutions.
