Julianna Berardi, MPH is a Clinical Research Coordinator II for the Center for Violence Prevention. While obtaining her graduate degree, she began working with CVP as a research assistant. Her master’s project supported one of CVP’s community-academic partnerships, gaining her translational research dissemination skills. Julianna’s current role spans numerous violence prevention and intervention projects and includes participant recruitment and consenting, conducting study visits, quality improvement tasks, and helping with dissemination. Aligning with the mission of CVP, Julianna strives to contribute to work that promotes safety, health, and flourishing for youth, teens, families, and communities.
Prior to joining CHOP, Julianna was a graduate student research assistant for the Health Equity Advancement Lab at the Dornsife School of Public Health. With principles of harm reduction and trauma-informed care, she performed various study activities for an HIV prevention study involving PrEP, contingency management, and expressive writing exercises with women who inject drugs. Through this experience, Julianna increased her understanding of the influences of trauma, violence, and financial and housing insecurity on health and care-seeking behaviors and outcomes.
