Leah Brogan, PhD is a clinical psychologist at Cooper University Hospital and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. She previously served as a psychologist at the Center for Violence Prevention at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and an Associate Fellow at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at CHOP. Dr. Brogan is a CVP Affiliate.
Leah Brogan, PhD is a clinical psychologist at Cooper University Hospital and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. At Cooper, Dr. Brogan provides evidence-based psychotherapy to children and adolescents struggling with trauma, mood disorders, and executive functioning challenges as well as conducts comprehensive psychological diagnostic evaluations. She also supervises psychiatry residents learning how to deliver evidence-based psychotherapies. She previously served as a psychologist at the Center for Violence Prevention at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and an Associate Fellow at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at CHOP.
Dr. Brogan has an extensive background working to improve and implement best practices for at-risk and justice-involved youth in hospital and community settings, and she has presented and published widely on adolescent development and juvenile justice reform. Dr. Brogan collaborates with Dr. Fein and other CVP colleagues to investigate the clinical utility of the Behavioral Health Screen in identifying behavioral health problems among adolescent patients in emergency department settings and connecting those patients to timely mental health treatment.
Dr. Brogan previously held a Stoneleigh Foundation Emerging Leader Fellowship with Drexel University’s Juvenile Justice Research and Reform Lab through which she established a technical assistance mentorship team model to support the expansion of the Graduated Response approach to juvenile probation statewide in Pennsylvania. She completed her clinical internship in juvenile justice behavioral health at Brown University’s Alpert Medical School, where she conducted forensic mental health evaluations, behavioral health and substance use assessments, and individual and group psychotherapy for court-involved adolescents detained and placed within the juvenile justice system. Dr. Brogan holds a BA in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a PhD in clinical psychology with a juvenile forensic psychology specialization from Drexel University.
