Michael L. Nance, MD, FACS, FAAP, an Associate of CHOP's Center for Violence Prevention, has conducted extensive research in the field of pediatric trauma, specifically examining firearms injuries in children, solid organ injuries, and traumatic brain injuries. His research also has focused on broader issues related to pediatric trauma such as access to trauma care and injury prevention. He has published extensively in scientific journals and books, and he presents regularly about childhood trauma, brain injuries, and violence. Dr. Nance is Chief of the Division of Pediatric General, Thoracic, and Fetal Surgery at CHOP.
