Michelle Abel, MSPH is the Program Manager II for the Center for Violence Prevention (CVP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In this capacity, she oversees the administrative, operational, financial, and communication components of CVP and assists in the coordination of multiple interdisciplinary teams' efforts.
Michelle Abel is the Program Manager II for the Center for Violence Prevention (CVP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In this capacity, she oversees the administrative, operational, financial, and communication components of CVP and assists in the coordination of multiple interdisciplinary teams' efforts. Along with CVP Co-Directors, Joel Fein, MD, MPH and Stephen Leff, PhD, Michelle represents CVP in internal and external forums and works directly with CVP staff and internal and external partners to provide technical advice and to coordinate and advance CVP's goals and policies.
Michelle brings both a communication and public health perspective, as well as 14 years of professional experience, including program management, to her role as CVP Program Manager. She came to CHOP from The Food Trust, where she served as Healthcare Senior Manager. Previously, Michelle held positions at the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Twin Cities, and Weber Shandwick.
