Suzanne Hill is Strategy Director for the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). She serves on the CIRP Leadership Core and oversees the Center's Communication and Outreach team.
Suzanne Hill is the Strategy Director at the Center for Injury Research and Prevention (CIRP) at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and a member of CIRP’s leadership team. She advises CIRP’s directors, scientists and programs on strategy related to communications and partnerships that support the acceleration of research and discoveries.
She oversees a team of communications professionals that work directly with the Center’s interdisciplinary researchers to translate child and youth injury prevention research into action through health promotion strategies that involve public policy advocacy, public relations, social marketing, and digital communications with a special focus on child and youth traffic safety and also violence prevention. Suzanne’s work at the Center has included strategic communications and partnerships for the Minds Matter Concussion Program, a hospital-wide, multi-disciplinary team focused on advancing targeted interventions to prevent concussion and optimizing treatment to accelerate recovery. Minds Matter received CHOP Frontier Program status beginning in 2020.
She also serves on the cross-functional Innovation Ecosystem Team at CHOP, working to develop and disseminate the discipline of innovation, and to share strategies and tools that enhance connectivity between people and resources to facilitate innovation. Her IE projects focus on building community and supporting professional education and networking that increases individual capacity for innovation at CHOP.
Suzanne currently serves on the Lifesavers Conference Board of Directors and the conference’s Planning Committee. She has been a workgroup member for the National Action Plan for Child Injury Prevention for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an expert panel member for the Governor’s Highway Safety Association reports: Protecting Teen Drivers: A Guidebook for State Highway Safety Offices (2010) and Occupant Protection for Children (2008). She was a Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician from 2001-2007. Prior to joining CHOP in 2001, she worked for a large health insurer, as well as for public relations and advertising firms.
