Civil Law

Assist client/caregiver in court
  • Coordinate client/caregiver schedule to ensure they can attend court date 
  • Provide in-court advocacy for families
  • Provide emotional support through court date 
  • Assist with victim impact statement
Refer client/caregiver to immigration services
  • Research and perform outreach to immigration-related resources and programs 
  • Validate emotions related to immigration issues 
  • Refer client/caregiver to local immigration services organizations

Criminal Law

Assist client/caregiver in court
  • Coordinate client/caregiver schedule to ensure they can attend court date 
  • Provide in-court advocacy for families 
  • Provide emotional support through court date 
  • Assist with victim impact statement
Assist client/caregiver in legal system navigation
  • Explain court process to family 
  • Gather and submit necessary documentation for legal proceedings  
  • Coordinate connection to legal advocate
  • Communicate/collaborate with legal advocates and staff
  • Contact detectives on behalf of client/caregiver to ask questions and/or request updates 
  • Assist in the process of obtaining stay away order
Assist client with probation requirements
  • Introduce self and program to probation officer 
  • Coordinate client's schedule/activities/program with probation officer 
  • Check in with probation officer about legal proceedings and general client updates
Refer client to intensive prevention services
  • Describe intensive prevention services to family 
  • Reach out to staff at program to determine eligibility of client 
  • Make referral for client to program
