Civil Law
- Assist client/caregiver in court
- Coordinate client/caregiver schedule to ensure they can attend court date
- Provide in-court advocacy for families
- Provide emotional support through court date
- Assist with victim impact statement
- Refer client/caregiver to immigration services
- Research and perform outreach to immigration-related resources and programs
- Validate emotions related to immigration issues
- Refer client/caregiver to local immigration services organizations
Criminal Law
- Assist client/caregiver in court
- Coordinate client/caregiver schedule to ensure they can attend court date
- Provide in-court advocacy for families
- Provide emotional support through court date
- Assist with victim impact statement
- Assist client/caregiver in legal system navigation
- Explain court process to family
- Gather and submit necessary documentation for legal proceedings
- Coordinate connection to legal advocate
- Communicate/collaborate with legal advocates and staff
- Contact detectives on behalf of client/caregiver to ask questions and/or request updates
- Assist in the process of obtaining stay away order
- Assist client with probation requirements
- Introduce self and program to probation officer
- Coordinate client's schedule/activities/program with probation officer
- Check in with probation officer about legal proceedings and general client updates
- Refer client to intensive prevention services
- Describe intensive prevention services to family
- Reach out to staff at program to determine eligibility of client
- Make referral for client to program
