Dr. Vasan is an Attending Physician in the Division of General Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and an Instructor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She is passionate about health equity, and her research focuses on understanding and addressing social drivers of child health, including helping families connect to government benefit programs and community resources, and measuring and mitigating the mental health impacts of gun violence exposure.
Aditi Vasan, MD, MSHP is an Attending Physician in the Division of General Pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and an Instructor of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). Dr. Vasan is also a Research Scholar at CHOP's Center for Violence Prevention and an Associate Fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics at Penn. Dr. Vasan’s research is centered on health equity and focuses on understanding and addressing social drivers of child health. Her current research focuses on understanding and alleviating families’ barriers to government benefit program participation, supporting families in navigating complex health and social service systems, and measuring and mitigating the mental health impacts of gun violence exposure.
Dr. Vasan received her BA in Molecular Biology and Global Health and Health Policy at Princeton University and her MD at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed residency training in Pediatrics at CHOP, where she also served as chief resident. She subsequently received a Masters in Health Policy Research (MSHP) at the University of Pennsylvania, as a fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program.
