Jazmine Smith, MS is a Resource Coordinator at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) Center for Violence Prevention. She also serves as the Coordinator of CHOP's Health and Behavior Research Affinity Group.
Jazmine Smith, MS is a Philadelphia Native who went to the University of Pennsylvania, where she received both her Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology. In her role as a Resource Coordinator for the Center for Violence Prevention at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Jazmine will be working under Dr. Stephen Leff to assist his team with various projects, including CVP's microaggression study. She also serves as the Coordinator of CHOP's Health and Behavior Research Affinity Group.
Jazmine's interest in School-Based research is underscored by both of her theses focusing on the School to Prison Pipeline. Jazmine is no stranger to CHOP, she worked for the Center for Injury Research and Prevention as a Research Assistant during her High School and Undergraduate years. Additionally, during her time in undergraduate and graduate school, she worked as a Project Manager for the Healthier Together Study under Dr. Jaya Aysola. Jazmine then spent one year working for the Federal Bureau of Investigation before coming back to CHOP to continue work that is focused on rehabilitation, prevention, and intervention rather than punishment.
