Mallory Stanek is an Intimate Partner Violence Specialist with Lutheran Settlement House and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She works at Lutheran Settlement House as an IPV Specialist through the STOP IPV program, a partnership with community hospitals with the goal of creating healthcare systems that are better equipped to meet the needs of survivors. Mallory works with survivors referred by clinicians and provides safety planning and empowerment counseling in moments of crisis, and also works with survivors to prevent the next crisis from happening. Additionally, Mallory trains hospital staff to provide compassionate care to survivors, and meets with hospital administrators to ensure policies reflect survivor needs in order to engage hospital staff at all levels to join us in making their workplace safe and welcoming to survivors and their families.
Mallory received her master’s degree in Human Sexuality Studies from Widener University in 2019, during which she focused her research on violence prevention. She completed her educational practicum at Swarthmore College, working in the Health and Wellness center alongside the Violence Prevention Educator, providing education, outreach, and counseling to students, as well as education and training for faculty and staff around sexual violence prevention. She previously worked as a counselor at a reproductive health care clinic, providing advocacy and education to patients regarding sexual health, safe relationships, contraception, and gender-affirming care.
Mallory is passionate about empowering and advocating for survivors of intimate partner violence, and believes that, as a community, we can work together to prevent violence through education and outreach.
